THE LITTLE THINGS MATTER
The road to success is full of the little things. The little things matter; they Set You Apart from the rest. They are generally simple; they just demand a little more attention to detail. The little things are a choice. You will Set Yourself Apart by having the will to do all that’s necessary to take care of the little things – because not many do.
Don’t wait for tomorrow.
It starts at practice. Give 100% of all you have left. Block out when your legs are tired. Set double wide screens when you can. Run the lanes hard and wide. Make the extra pass. Hustle for loose balls. Rotate with a vengeance on defense. Communicate to your teammates. Be the first in the gym and the last to leave. Go game speed during warm-ups. Take every rep… Plus two extra. Perfect your ball fake. Utilize good footwork. Hold your follow-through. Don’t cut corners. Check the cutter. Hold yourself to a high level of integrity and excellence. Be coach-able. Shake your coaches hand. Say thank you. Set goals and chase after them. Be the standard. Set Yourself Apart.
“Only those who have patience to do simple things perfectly ever acquire the skill to do difficult things easily.” -James J Corbett.
That quote is good. Read it again. And again.
Has it sunk in yet?
Appreciate the little things. Without the attention to little things that seem so simple, many will not acquire the ability to do the more difficult skills easily.
The time for action has always been right now!
